To insure you get the most out of your class experience, here are a few helpful tips...

BRING WATER - I can't stress this enough.  Although ZUMBA Fitness is "exercise in disguise" trust me when I tell you that you ARE going to sweat and will feel miserable if you don't bring water to support your body.  Drink plenty and whenever needed.

WEAR COOL, COMFORTABLE, CLOTHING - Again, YOU WILL SWEAT so your thoughts about hiding your body under 3 sweatshirts have got to go!  Trust me when I tell you that everyone is so focused on the steps and their own experience that they don't have time to judge you.  Just come prepared to be comfortable and have fun.

INVEST IN GOOD SHOES - While I don`t believe you need to go out and drop a bunch of moola for every activity you do, I do believe that proper shoes are ALWAYS a good investment.  Any shoe with a heavy or deep tread (i.e. Walking, Running) are not ideal for ZUMBA. Trainers with a flat and flexible sole tend to work best, as they will allow you to pivot and groove without jamming your knee or hip.  Click here to see what I wear.
CONSIDER PURCHASING SHOES A 1/2 SIZE BIGGER - While this may not apply to everyone, if you find that your toes tend to go numb or tingly after doing aerobic exercise, then consider going a bit bigger the next time you purchase sport shoes.  Feet tend to swell during these activities and will appreciate the extra room to breathe!

COOL DOWN - Do not leave class before participating in a cool down!  To minimize soreness as well as the risk of injury and blood pooling, it is essential that you take part in streching and gentle movements that will support your fitness and help bring your heart rate down safely at the end of class. (This goes for ANY fitness class you attend)
